Africa Travel Updates
Arrival: All passengers arriving in or transiting through Kenya must have a negative PCR COVID-19 certificate for a test conducted within 96 hours prior to travel. Arriving passengers will be screened for any COVID-19 symptoms. All passengers arriving in Kenya must complete the Travelers Health Surveillance Form by the Ministry of Health. The form must be completed online prior to disembarkation. Passengers will receive a QR code after completing the form and will be required to display it to a Port Health Official to proceed through immigration. Strict infection prevention and control measures have to be followed: social distancing, good hand hygiene, and the wearing of masks remain mandatory.
Departure: Departing passengers are required to provide a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test which will be done before your international departure. After testing, you will receive an SMS and/or email from PanaBIOS firstname.lastname@example.org with instructions on how to generate a Travel Code from http://trustedtravel.panabios.org/ to be approved by airlines and immigration authorities on departure.
Arrival: Passengers are required to complete a Health Surveillance Form while in the plane or any other transport means and submit the form to Port Health authorities upon arrival. All arriving and transiting travelers will undergo health screening upon entry. For precautionary measures, it is recommended that you bring a negative COVID-19 certificate, as requirements may change at any time.
Departure: Requirements for travelers departing Tanzania will be in line with the requirements issued by the travelers’ respective airline or destination country.
South Africa Protocols
Arrival: COVID-19 protocols and screening —- Travellers must present a valid certificate of a negative COVID-19 PCR test, obtained not more than 72 hours from the time of departure. The test must be conducted by a certified medical practitioner and the certificate must have the name and signature of the practitioner who conducted the test. . All travels must complete a Traveller Health Questionnaire not more than 2 days before arriving – the same applies when departing South Africa. Travellers will be screened for any COVID-19 symptoms. Travellers will be asked to download the COVID Alert South Africa mobile app.
Arrival: All passengers arriving on international flights must present a negative PCR COVID-19 test result, conducted within 72 hours of boarding the plane. Arriving travelers must submit their full itinerary on arrival.
Arrival: Arriving travellers must have a COVID-19 PCR test result from an accredited laboratory in their country of origin, issued within 120 hours of departure for Uganda. All visitors will undergo temperature checks and health screening on arrival.
Departure: All departing travellers must show a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, issued within 120 hours of departing from Uganda.
Arrival: Travellers must present a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result, conducted within 72 hours of departure for Botswana.
Departure: On departure, travellers must present a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours of departure. Two options are available for this:
a) A nurse can be flown to the lodge where guests are staying, perform the swab test and be flown back to Maun for processing the results
b) The PCR test can be done in Maun or Kasane airport a day before your departure, as there is a 24hour turnaround time for test result
Zambia is open to foreign nationals and issuing visitor visas upon entry into the country. Depending on your nationality, travellers can arrive without a visa, obtain a visa on arrival, or apply for an e-visa before travelling to Zambia – see the Zambia Department of Immigration website for more info. Limited domestic flight schedules are operating twice-weekly between Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and Mfuwe International Airport, and between Kenneth Kaunda and Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone.
Arrival: All travellers must have a certificate of a negative COVID-19 test that has been conducted within 7 days of arriving in Zambia.
Departure: Departing travellers will only require a negative Covid-19 test certificate if their destination country or airline requires it
Arrival: All travelers will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate, obtained from a recognized facility within 48 hours of departure for Zimbabwe. All travelers will undergo health screening and temperature testing.
