Day Three: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, our adventures in the bush begin making our way to the spectacular Sweetwaters Tented Camp in the secluded heart of Ol Pejeta Ranch and Rhino Reserve. Here, these magnificent beasts are given sanctuary from those who would take their lives to sell their horns. Additionally, the Jane Goodall Institute operates a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary where we meet the primates face to- face. This is Africa as Teddy Roosevelt saw it years ago when he led one of the first safaris to tour Africa in comfort and splendor; the tents at Sweetwaters Camp will remind you of this bygone era.

This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains, famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration, and is also the home of the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. Upon arrival at camp, check-in and enjoy a delicious lunch. After, depart on an afternoon game run. Watch for elephant, rhino, topi, cheetah, and more. Return to camp for dinner and get some rest as the adventures continue tomorrow!

Day Six: Exploring Masai Mara National Reserve

The search for great predators and vibrant wildlife continues today during extensive morning and afternoon game drives. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. When the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra arrives, generally between August and early November, the population enlarges by almost 2 million. This provides a great food source for predators such as lion, leopard, and hyena.
