Day One – Arrive Nairobi

Following your flight Odyssey Safari staff will greet you at the airport and load your bags for transport to the Safari Park Hotel. Once you are settled in you may select an optional activity or simply relax at the camp for the trip ahead. Some of the possible optional activities include: Bomas of Kenya, Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixen Museum, Tour of Downtown Nairobi, National Museum, or Langata Giraffe Center.

Overnight: Fairmont The Norfolk

Day Two – Amboseli National Park

Drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park and your tented safari camp in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. The elephant population is prolific here. Amid acacia woodland, scrub brush, freshwater swamps and open plains, watch for buffalo, hippos and waterfowl.

Overnight: Tortilis Camp

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day Three – Amboseli National Park

Embark on exciting morning and afternoon game drives, keeping watch for lions and cheetahs as they prepare to hunt. Then, from atop the perch of prehistoric Observation Hill, witness the grasslands and mighty mountain shift colors at sunset.

Overnight: Tortilis Camp

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Days 4 – 5 – Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

Board a bush flight to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a harbor for endangered black rhinos, big cats and elephants. Drive to your exclusive tented camp in the scenic Northern Frontier District, set within a private wildlife conservancy and rhino sanctuary. Take to the bush this afternoon and on day 5 in search of northern species such as the reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich and the long-necked gerenuk, which stands on its hind legs to feed. Consider taking a walking safari, optional horseback ride or camel ride (additional cost) — amenities not possible in game reserves or national parks.

Overnight: Lewa Safari Camp

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day Six – Mt. Kenya National Park

Drive to Nanyuki town, stopping en route at Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers, a women’s self-help project with a mission to empower women to achieve sustainable livelihoods through social and economic empowerment activities. See how women learn to weave and create a wide range of handsome rugs and other accessories during this inspiring artisan visit. Arrive at Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club and spend the afternoon at leisure, enjoying a swim in the heated pool or one of the many optional activities available such as horseback riding on the slopes of Mount Kenya, golfing or trout fishing.

Overnight: Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day Seven – Masai Mara Game Reserve

Fly to the Masai Mara Game Reserve and the award-winning luxury camp Sanctuary Olonana. Its 14 elegant tents feature four-poster beds and verandas overlooking a private stretch of the Mara River, where hippos wallow. After a late-afternoon game drive is your first significant exploration of the reserve; return to camp for dinner.

Overnight: Sanctuary Olonana

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Days 8 – 9 – Masai Mara Game Reserve

For the next two days, you explore the vast plains of the Masai Mara Reserve on game drives searching for the vast number of African species found here. Situated along the Tanzanian border, the Masai Mara is the site of the annual wildebeest migration and home to the country’s largest lion population. Immerse yourself in the lives of locals when you visit the students and teachers of a local school and Masai Village. While at Olonana, partake in a Chef’s Table experience, featuring a cooking demonstration of local dishes with the opportunity to taste them when they’re finished. Later, celebrate a sunset on the Mara with a Scenic Sundowner. On your final evening, enjoy a farewell dinner.

Overnight: Sanctuary Olonana
