Highlights of Tanzania Safari

Day One, Arusha Arrival – Lake Manyara National Park

Upon arrival into Arusha, you will be met by your local guide at the airport and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge where you will enjoy a delicious lunch and get briefed for your safari before departing for Lake Manyara. As we make our way to the lake you will be able to spot a variety of wildlife and grassy floodplains that blend into thick acacia woodlands.

Upon arrival, check in at Kirurumu Tented Lodge which is built on the Gregorian Escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. Set in this stunning location, it overlooks a spectacular panorama across Lake Manyara to Mount Losimongori and miles of seemingly untouched Africa. Kirurumu is sympathetically and unobtrusively built of local materials, inspired by the nearby traditional Mbulu (Iraqw) tribal dwellings.

The well spaced tents are private and secluded, each raised on a base of natural stone. Bedrooms are comfortable with twin or double beds with duvets. The modern en-suite bathrooms have hot and cold water and flush toilets.

Dinner and Overnight: Kirurumu Tented Lodge

Day Two, Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, head out for a game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. Here you will explore acacia woodlands, grassy floodplains and tall forest full of wildlife, including the famous tree-climbing lions, which may be spotted resting in favored spots and large family herds of elephant roaming about.

After lunch, we will depart for the ever famous Serengeti which is now one of the world’s best known National Parks, and with good reason. Its vast, endlessly rolling, Acacia-studded grassland savannahs, riverine forests, swamps, and hills and valleys are home to countless species of numerous wild animals.

Upon arrival, check in at Serengeti Sopa Lodge which is constructed in the intriguing style of the Masaai Manyatta. The complex is superbly sited in the Nyarboro Hill, an area of intense natural beauty. The acacia woodland on the lower slopes of the hill and the all year-round springs have created an ideal habitat for many species of game living in this area. The elevated positions of the lodge provides guests with cooling breezes above the sun-baked plains and sweeping panoramic views of timeless Africa.

Dinner and Overnight: Serengeti Sopa Lodge

Day Three, Exploring Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will embark on a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park stopping for a picnic lunch mid-way through our journey. Its vast, endlessly rolling, Acacia-studded grassland savannahs, riverine forests, swamps, and hills and valleys are home to countless species of numerous wild animals.

Day Four, Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we take to the bush for a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Sit back as the subtle light meets the landscape and the sense of a great adventure begins to unfold before your eyes.

After the game drive, we will return to the lodge for checkout. Head for Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge, the site of archaeological findings, where traces of pre-historic man dating back to 3.5 million years ago have been discovered. Along the way, we will stop for a picnic lunch in a scenic setting.

Arrival and check in at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, which is spread along the uppermost rim of the Ngorongoro World Heritage site. The lodge offers breathtaking views of the crater floor far below. Each room is a suite with two Queen sized beds. The lobby area is a stunning combination of modern and ethnic décor.

Dinner and Overnight: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
